Show appreciation to your loved ones with a hand-made print!
In this exciting hands-on workshop you’ll learn the ins and outs of designing a relief print. Learn the art of hand carving relief blocks and printing them by hand or on a table-top press. You’ll be printing your blocks onto cards that you can write meaningful letters and notes in, to gift to the people you care about most! Your blocks will be yours to take home and continue to print with your newly acquired skills. All supplies will be provided, just bring your creativity and excitement!
12/14, 1-3pm Hand-Carved Linoleum Block Printed Ornaments @ Winterfair Hartford

Get into the holiday spirit by designing and printing your own folded paper ornaments!
In this fun, hands-on workshop, you’ll learn the art of linoleum block carving and relief printing. Katie will guide you on designing your sketches, carving them into linoleum blocks, and hand printing your designs onto paper. Then, you’ll transform your printed papers into beautiful folded ornaments — perfect for decorating your home for the holidays or giving as handmade gifts.
All materials and tools will be provided, and your carved block is yours to keep for future printing projects.

Learn bookbinding and make book ornaments for the holidays. In this workshops, participants will have time to make two books -- one mini to hand on the tree and fill with this year's memories, and one large that can be used as an intentional journal, sketchbook, or notebook in the new year. No experience necessary, all materials and tools will be provided.

In this super fun hands-on workshop, you’ll design and carve your own original linoleum blocks and use them to create unique wrapping paper AND gift tags. Learn to take your ideas from sketch, to block to hand printing your design on sheets of paper. We will have everything you need for this workshop on hand, just bring your ideas, creativity and enthusiasm. Your reusable blocks are yours to take home, perfect for future printing and sharing with friends.
No experience necessary, just bring your great energy and holiday spirit!

HPC Grand Opening!
Join us for the grand opening of our studio space and open house! Drop in anytime between 12-6pm on April 26 to make your own book, print on one of our presses, make your own seed packet, see print artwork by more than 20 different artists, and more! Galentines Pop-up at Hartford Prints!
Print your own Valentines with the Hartford Press Co-op! We are excited to bring our mini printing press to Hartford Prints! for Galentines Day Downtown! Print your own for a suggested donation of $5-10 per print, and shop our selection of handprinted, limited edition artwork created by more than 20 different local artists. Artist prints range from $30-50. Attendees to the event will receive a special 14% discount on artist prints. All proceeds help us fund our newly opened community printmaking and book arts studio, located at 56 Arbor St. in Hartford.

A Printmaking Sampler with the West Hartford Art League (6 weeks)
Designed to be an entry level exploration of Printmaking as a medium for the curious beginner, we know you’ll be just as enamored with making prints as we are! Each method will be explained step by step while you work with your instructor to create exciting new pieces in five different media! Explore the techniques of Drypoint with Christopher Roque, Monotype with Jenni Freidman, Screenprint with Kathleen Woodward of Woodward Paper Company, Book Arts with Krista Narciso and Relief with Alexis Christina Crowley.
Pick, Press & Print: Create your own botanical print
Join us for a pop-up event at HPC committee member Zoe Chatfield’s garden! Pick your own flowers, print them using gelli plate monotype techniques, enjoy herbal tea, and take home a seed packet with seeds from Zoe’s garden. $20-25 suggested donation. No one turned away for lack of funds.
Linoleum Printmaking Workshop
Design, carve, and print your own linoleum block for custom relief prints. This is a great introduction to printmaking for beginners.
Gyotaku pop-up at Goslee Pool
Join HPC founder and instructor Krista for a Gyotaku, or fish printing, pop-up event at first anniversay of Goslee Pool in Windsor. Ink and print model fish to create prints with interesting texture and unique shapes.
